Emmet County Helping Hands

A compilation of area updates, resources and services available to residents of Emmet County and across Northern Michigan. This group is keeping up-to-date information about available resources, like help with food and supplies, businesses that are offering deliveries and services, volunteer activities that you can take part in to help, and more during the  COVID-19 outbreak in our area. It is a great resource put together by members of our community to keep residents safe and informed!

United Way of Northwest Michigan

2-1-1 Services

Char-Em United Way has partnered with area organizations and companies who offer free or discounted social services to provide you a fast, easy way to get the specific help you need as quickly as possible! This is a free service that is available 24/7. For help with things like child care, paying your bills, finding legal help, etc. call or text 2-1-1

Habitat Homeowners who have a Habitat Mortgage can use this quick link to access the online portal. You can find information about your mortgage and pay online here.

Affiliate Mortgages

NMCAA provides our partners and other community members with educational courses held by a HUD certified counselor. They can aid households with learning what it means to be a homeowner or what steps they may need to become homeowners through finically fitness workshops, homebuyer education, and credit counseling. 

Northern Michigan Community Action Agency

Community Connections is a FREE program offering connections to community resources for adults, children, and families. Individuals will get help with access to medical care, transportation, food, utilities, education, classes and more! Participants may also get home visits from a health care provider to assist with:

Medical, dental care or mental health, finding a doctor or dentist, finding transportation, enrolling in health insurance, answering questions about wellness or being sick, getting food or a place to live, buying, fixing, and eating healthy foods, and much more!

Building on over 40 years of experience, Northwest Michigan Works! assists employers in finding and retaining qualified employees by ensuring our local talent pipelines have the skills, training, and education that employers are seeking. They have workshops and resources to help you craft a resume, connect with area employers, find apprenticeships and trainings, and more!
